Are we forgotten Heroes like you…? (A letter to Subashchandra Bose)

The great Subash….

I keep my head straight on this occasion of your birthday to pay you a heartly respect.

You fled India and met those leaders for seeking alliance for attacking British. You quit National Congress thinking that tactics of non-violence would never be sufficient to secure India's independence. You had established INS, attacked British and tried freeing India from them.

I know, you too had a family like all of us but opted to serve the country first. I don’t believe that any mantra can get us the Mango we wanted. Though we have got our independence from nonviolence, everyone can understand your effort to weaken the enemies, you made sure to them, that we can also fight.

I know, you are the great Inspiration for soldiers who are guarding our Mother Land in the borders, in spite of deadly cold and sleepless nights.

But exactly after 61 years of independence we are changed. More than respecting the heroes of our country we are more worried about dip in our share market.

Our media has full of these news – India’s voctory at Perth, Kareena’s tatoo on Saif’s hand, Political Crisis in Karnataka and so on... and your news was just part of all these somewhere.

I think, many of us really had no time to remember you. You should have surprised by not seeing the khadhi political leaders beside your phototgraph this time.

Please don’t mind they are in full fledge compigning for the election. Might be they are thinking ‘ Paying respect to the National leaders is also part of their ruling’.
They may remember people like you only when they are in power.

Few years later if I tell your story to kids they may be very much surprised to hear it. They may think “ did we really have people like you who sacrificed their life for us?”
No wonder if we loose the meaning of the words like patriotism and if the people completely forget the heroes like you.

we should feel ashamed for this.

I promise , at least I will tell patriotic stories to my kids. I will teach them how to respect the nation and people.

Getting a chance please come back to India again to reinitiate some moral in us.

JaiHind

Tata's Nano Car----Side Effects

The 1 lakh tata nano is finally here... but living in a metro and dealing with traffic everyday has only made me sceptical and worried about this car. Will it now take double the time than it already takes (which is already 3 times the time it should logically take), will parking spaces now be found miles away from the intended venue, will all auto drivers (who seem to drive as if under the influence of ecstacy) now buy nanos as their personal vehicles of choice ? can anyone who faces Bangalore traffic actually be happy about this car? yes, the people who don't have cars will be, but once they are on the road in that car, will they wish they went back to the motorcycle & BMTC bus? and will all the 'privileged' who own cars be forced to give them up?

Sure India is growing, the economy is booming, India is the future super power, but all this brouhaha over a car that will only add to road congestion, lead to huge petrol bills in terms of import and add to our polluted environment... is it justified? yes a 1 lakh car is a great engineering feat but is it something future generations will marvel at or will it be a termed as the cause of many subsequent ills?

Who knows what the nano effect will bring. i am not its most ardent supporter myself. i do feel that adding to our over burdened road infrastructure isn't going to achieve anything beyond jams and more jams.

Here are few cartoons, which are hilarious, especially the one about reservations for the underprivileged in parking spaces. CHECK OUT..!!!

Awesome Presence of Mind

John works in a supermarket. A man came in and asked John for half a kilogram of butter. The boy told him they only sold 1 kg packets of butter, but the man was persistent. The boy said he`d go ask his manager what to do.

John walked into the back room and said, "There`s a bloody fellow out there who wants to buy only half a kilo of butter." As he finished saying this he turned around to find the man standing right behind him, so he added, "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half."

The manager finished the deal and later said to John, "You almost got yourself in a lot of trouble earlier, but I must say I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of it. You think on your feet, and I like it a lot. Which place are you from?"

John replied, "I`m from Mexico, sir."

"Oh really? Why did you leave Mexico?" asked the manager.

John replied, "They`re all just prostitutes and soccer players up there."

"My wife is from Mexico," the manager said.

John replied, "Which team did she play for?"
